TwoSistas and it’s WealthWellnessWednesday, October 12, 2022, with Rachel Venokur. Rachel is a Certified Health and Nutrition Coach for people living with autoimmune or other chronic conditions. She coaches others with autoimmune disease transition from letting their disease control everything, to owning their lives again. It’s about empowerment and taking action in such a way that compliments, and yes changes, our lifestyle.
Rachel is no stranger to the autoimmune world. While living in LA, her world was flipped upside down in a way she could have never imagined. She decided at that point to move back to New York to be with her family and friends. It was through the transition of understanding and changing her lifestyle that she learned more and more about holistic health.
Rachel explained that it takes typically on average 8 years and 4 different doctors for a person to obtain a diagnosis of an autoimmune issue. Once you are diagnosed, chances are at some point that you will come down with other autoimmune inflictions such as Lupus or Rheumatoid Arthritis. (Rachel has (3) different autoimmune issues.)
Not only does going through a medical crisis reac havoc on your overall health and wellness but your mental health and mindset becomes frazzled and being overwhelmed takes on a new meaning. Rachel is all about empowering yourself to educate and become a part of the solution. Getting a diagnosis can feel as if your life has been flipped upside down. This will help you to have those healthy conversations with your medical practitioner.
Rachel guides her clients and through effective ways to manage their disease. Every client is unique and Rachel’s approach incorporates a dive into:
-Anti-inflammatory and plant-based nutrition
-Stress management and finding balance
-Learning to advocate for yourself
-Finding the right team of doctors
